Filium

Filium is an arresting modern garden sculpture of vine-like metal lattice work. The metal ball sculpture juxtaposes the reflective interest of a mirror-polished stainless-steel exterior with a bold painted interior in a colour of your choice. Creating a focal point of interest and intrigue, light and shadow, Filium is a piece of garden art that draws the eye from every angle.

Design details

Filium’s open lattice of wavy metal frames pockets of the garden, encouraging you to look closer and discover some small detail that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. The contemporary look of this metal garden sphere can complement modern architecture or offer a striking contrast to traditional landscape design.

Raised on a plinth, Filium becomes a contemporary focal point to draw the eye to the landscape beyond. On the ground, nestled within planting, it offers a reflective foil for a riot of colour or a lush green palette.

Filium’s steel sphere interior can be painted with a colour of your choice to suit the colour palette of your garden and create a striking statement year round.

Product information

Filium is supplied with a baseplate. The client will need to provide a smooth and level stone or concrete pad positioned just below ground level to attach this plate to. Stainless steel bolts are then resin fixed into holes and drilled into the stone or concrete pad, to provide a secure fixing. It is possible to supply Filium with an LED light for which an electrical supply will need to emerge up through the centre of the concrete pad. We supply the driver for the LED lighting.

Installation and delivery are included in the price for commissions in the United Kingdom, and overseas shipping quotes can be obtained and charged at cost.

As with all our metal sculpture, to maintain Filium’s durability, we would recommend that the exterior be cleaned, when necessary, with warm water and a very soft cloth and then rinsed with warm clean water. Once dry, the metal art can be polished with glass cleaner and a soft lint free cloth. Use of any abrasive cleaner will damage the finish of the steel sculpture and must be avoided. The internal painted surface can be gently washed with a garden hose as required.
