Harber winning streak

David Harber South West London based garden design and build company Landscaping Solutions beat stiff competition to win a Principle award for Domestic Garden Construction at the 2011 BALI National Landscape Awards in December.

This is the third time in six months, a David Harber piece has featured as the centrepiece of an award winning garden design.

The British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) judge praised Landscaping Solutions' garden design as a “a clean, crisp and competent build with exceptionally good detailing. Rendered walls, pleached trees, purposely light planting and new fencing all combines to create a stylish garden for this terraced house”.

The Awards, which are run annually by BALI , pay tribute to landscape designers and contractors who have demonstrated exceptionally high standards of professionalism and skill.

The Bali award follows Judy Cornford's Silver Medal at the Hampton Court Flower Show (with a garden that also featured the Chalice at its heart); and the gold medal for Warwickshire College students at the Malvern Spring Gardening Show using a Dark Planet Fountain in May 2011.

A David Harber Chalice water feature with water cascading into a containing pool dominated the central area of Landscaping Solutions's contemporary design.

The private garden also featured a raised terrace area with a fireplace feature wall acting as an architectural and functional centrepiece and an open terrace next to the house fringed by raised planting beds. At night the garden is illuminated by subtle lighting to the boundary screening, paving and in amongst the planting.
