David Harber designs the SGD Awards for 2025

As a regular contributor and collaborator with The Society of Garden Designers designers and makers, we at David Harber attend the SGD Awards each year to celebrate the achievements of the many designers who have been shortlisted and have won awards. We are honoured to have the opportunity to strengthen this long-standing relationship by designing and producing the physical SGD award trophies for 2025.

Designed by David Harber’s Design Director Lior Kristal, these awards are crafted from the remnants of two classic David Harber sculptures, exquisitely shaped into thoughtfully designed handheld objects. Each coveted piece features a hot patination finish, an innovative and artisanal technique applied by hand which ensures every award is unique.

The draw to use material remnants highlights the importance of sustainability in the design industry, a core value for both SGD and David Harber. This commitment to repurposing materials traces back to the origins of David Harber, with the first sundial forged by David himself.

The ability to transform materials is a testament to our talented in-house team at David Harber. Every day, we work in an environment where artisanal craftsmanship meets manufacturing, and the rich landscape of talent, experience and creativity in our Oxfordshire workshop is reflected in these awards.
