Slate Garden Sculpture
A pretty colour
David Harber uses Welsh slate which is an interesting colour, varying between grey and a purplish heather grey, even on the same slate chip. The colour changes in the rain, adding to the character of a sculpture. This colour variation means slate often relates well to other colours in a garden.
A natural looking material
Slate chips have a rough, organic shape and texture, which means slate sculptures fit well in a natural outdoor setting.
Some slates do not freeze well. This is not the case with the Welsh slate used by David Harber which can withstand temperatures below zero.
Slate sculptures can be pressure washed at petrol stations, making them easy to maintain.
