This is why we are thrilled to sponsor the Woodland Heritage, which promotes the proper management of UK woodlands and nurtures homegrown trees for fine timber for crafts.
Our former client and friend, Dame Judi Dench, recently launched her £250k appeal with Gaze Burvill at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where she was presented with a 100-year-old Herefordshire oak timber round, carved with key dates from her life and career.

Simon Burvill, Chairman of the Trustees, said he was “honoured to have Dame Judi support their Founders' Appeal” and that “Britain's existing woodlands desperately need to be brought back into management and the economics of harvesting fine hardwood timber needs to be squared.”
The charity, whose patron is H.R.H. Prince of Wales, runs educational courses in first-class forest management and timber production. It has recently purchased the freehold of Whitney Sawmills in Herefordshire and is planting and managing its own 86-acre woodland in Somerset.
